Hello Meow!
Welcome to A Kitty Cats Life!
My name is Sox (on the right) and this is my little brother Louie (AKA Trouble). Sorry. Mom caught me napping again.
We are both rescue cats.
I was adopted when I was a year old. I am now nine years old and I am a very healthy female cat.
Louie was adopted from the pet store when he was 2 months old. He was our Christmas gift in 2007.
When we adopted him he only weighed about a pound. The people at the pet store said that he and his brother were found in a dumpster shortly after they were born.
They were both cleaned up and brought to the pet store for adoption.
Initially they were doing well, but then Louie's brother was adopted and he wasn't. He stopped eating because he was so heartbroken over losing his brother.
One day, about 2 weeks before Christmas, my Mom and Dad went to the pet store to buy me something.
Louie was with the cashier. He was so small that he fit into the palm of her hand.
Dad played with Louie, and then Mom and Dad left the store.
They couldn't stop thinking about Louie and how much he needed a home.
Mom and Dad had previously talked about adopting another kitty cat so that I would have someone to play with and cuddle with, but Mom has allergies, so they never did it.
Today was going to be different. As Mom and Dad drove out of the parking lot, they couldn't stop talking about Louie and how he needed a nice home and good food. So that afternoon my Mom and Dad adopted Louie.
When they first brought him home I thought they were crazy. I knew that they had no idea how much trouble he was going to get into.
What I didn't realize was how hungry this guy was. He immediately ate all of my food and then promptly made a mess on the carpet!! Ooopppss.
For the first 6 weeks Louie spent his nights in the guest bathroom. He was setup with a comfy bed, lots of food and water and his own litter box. He wasn't completely happy with his setup, but Mom and Dad didn't want to wake up every morning to a destroyed house.
You see Louie enjoyed nibbling on the fake plant leaves, putting his paws in our water bowl and then throwing the water all over the wall, climbing up the Christmas tree, and a bunch of other silly stuff that is now just a distant memory.
Also, because Louie wasn't thrilled about living in his suite every night, he taught himself to jump up, grab the door handle and then pull down on the handle in the hopes of opening the door. He made so much noise doing this, and I think he actually did open the door once.
Well now it is almost two years later and I am very happy that we adopted Louie. He still gets into a lot of trouble, but he loves to cuddle and wrestle and play with me.
We both love lap time with Mom and Dad while they watch TV in the evening, but the real fun for us starts once they go to bed and the lights go out.
With the help of our Mom and Dad, Louie and I created A Kitty Cats Life in the hopes of providing information for people that have never had a kitty cat but would like to either adopt or purchase a kitty cat of their own.
We talk about all the different breeds of cats, including what they like and how they typically behave.
We also talk about how to get your house ready for a kitty cat, as well as what types of products you will need to buy for your kitty cat's new home.
If you are not fussy about having a particular breed of cat then perhaps you would consider adopting a rescue kitten from a shelter or pet store like our Mom and Dad did.
We think every kitty cat deserves a good home. Don't you?
Sorry! Louie is telling me that it is time for our nap, so I gotta go. Thanks for dropping by and we hope to see you again soon!!
Lots of Love,
Sox and Louie
